Irish Junior Cup Round 4 - Round Up

On Saturday 4th January, the last 8 remaining teams from the Fermanagh and Western League took part in the 4th Round of the Irish Junior Cup. Killen Rangers hosted fellow F&W Division 1 side Strule United in the only all Fermanagh and Western ties, with the Omagh men winning a close encounter. Beragh Swifts overcame a strong Ballyoran side from the Mid-Ulster League 3-1, Enniskillen Rangers also had an easy victory over Mid-Ulster League opposition, Armagh Rovers 6-0 at the Ball Range. Previous winners and current Division 1 leaders, Strathroy Harps ran out comfortable 4-0 winners over Limavady Drummond to keep their treble hopes alive.
Unfortunetly, 3 other Fermanagh and Western sides were not successful in their match. All three had tough away assignments to leading sides in the Ballymena Saturday Morning League, Mid-Ulster and Belfast District Leagues. Lisbellaw United lost to one of the favourites for the competition Ahoghill Thistle 3-1 in extra time. Enniskillen Town United conceeded a goal in injury time to loose 2-1 too Hill Street from Lurgan and Magheraveely lost 4-1 to Tullymore Swifts from West Belfast.
